how to create a Spring jar centrepiece

CREATE A GARDEN JAR CENTREPIECE!

Inspired by the Queen of Flowers Willow Crossley, I created a Spring jar centrepiece for our Mother's Day lunch at the weekend using our newly arrived glass jar vase, mini flower frog and some Spring blooms so I thought I'd share in case you'd like to try your hand at it. I wanted to create a sort of overgrown garden vibe with the stems coming out of the jar. This would also be gorgeous with a pillar candle in the centre.

Step 1: add water to the bottom of the jar

Step 2:  Start feeding in your stems. I've used clematis which is ideal as it's a climbing vine. I've also used scabiosa, muscari and a gorgeous pinky flower that I don't know the name of as I grew it from seed and forgot to label it lol! Make sure to use malleable flexible stems that you can lay against the sides of the glass.

Step 3. Next stick the stems onto spikes on the mini flower frog

Choose smaller stems for the middle of the jar and tall wavy meandering stems if you can get your hands on them so it looks like they're growing out of the jar! I like the negative space within the jar but you could go for a fuller wilder look if you wanted!

Step: 4 Place the frog carefully into the centre of the jar. It's lead base will keep it in place.

Step 5: Place in the centre of your table or if you have a long table you could place one on either end and then add in some candles for height and ambience! Here I've used our forest green and pale green tapered dinner candles.
